As part of its Celebrating a Tapestry of Giving 50th Anniversary, William G. and Marie Selby Foundation held a Search for Selby Scholars. During the past fifty years, the Foundation has given scholarships to over 3,500 individuals, totaling over $11 million. The Foundation was interested in learning how these students have used their education to make our world a better place. Entries from over 10 states flowed in and were judged by a panel of community leaders. Five of the most outstanding were selected and each given the opportunity to present a $10,000 to the local nonprofit organization of their choice at the 50th Anniversary Kick-off Breakfast, held on Tuesday May 17, 2005.
The following are the Selby Scholar Search winners along with the organizations that received the $10,000 grants.
