Cordelia Lee Beattie was a concert violinist who retired to Sarasota and became a musician in the Florida West Coast Symphony. Mrs. Beattie established this foundation in 1973 in memory of her husband, Edward William Beattie. The grantor‘s lifelong interest was in music and fine arts and requested that the Foundation focus on the various area organizations in Sarasota County.
